Ok, let’s keep going.

If you have not done a brain dump and organized the information under like categories yet, do that now. Once you’ve finished, then begin thinking about the following:

What is the number one promise you are making to your reader?

Based on your experiences, expertise and your journey, what is your book about?

What makes you stand out from the crowd?

What is your ideal client’s main pain point as it relates to your business or your book?

What is the one thing your ideal client believes is impossible for them to do, be or have as it relates to your specialty, expertise, or book?

Today, titles sell better if they are short. You want your title to explain what the book is about.

Subtitles, on the other hand, can be longer, and our “outcome-based or results oriented.” So 3 weeks to… or 5 tricks to… or how to do something in a certain timeframe

Fill the following sentence in for your ideal client. (Using words they might use, and try to get what they’re feeling and experiencing.)

“I don’t believe I will be able to have/do/be _____________________ unless I read this book because __.”

Based on the above sentence, write three possible titles for your book that offer the solution to their problem:

1.

2.

3.

Write out 3 potential subtitles for your book:

1.

2.

3.

If you’re stuck, try thinking of it using one of these three types of unique solutions:

Results-based: Your ideal reader will achieve ________________________ if they read your book.

Experience-based: What wonderful/unforgettable/life-changing opportunity will they have if they read your book

Hybrid-based: A mix of both achievement and experience that your reader receives or experiences after reading your book?

List 3 to 5 benefit-laden reasons or solutions you offer your reader in your book:

1.

2.

3.

Once you’ve finished this exercise, you will have your book’s back-of-the-book description and the selling points for the sales copy. Plus, you’ll understand what your book is about, the potential titles and subtitles for your book, and the information that goes into your book.
